Jokke Sommer is a professional skydiver and BASE jumper from Norway. Sommer began BASE jumping in 2008. Wingsuit Base in Romsdalen, Norway, is his debut YouTube film, in which he leaps from massive cliffs. Over 17,000 people watched this video. Sommer released Dream Lines – Part I in 2010, in which he flies near cliffs and mountains all around the world. He released four episodes of Dream Lines, the most popular of which was Dream Lines – Part III, which received over 10 million views on YouTube and Dream Lines IV, which received over four million views.
Sommer starred in the Epic TV web series The Perfect Flight in 2013, in which he did stunts alongside the late Ludovic Woerth (who filmed the flights with cameras connected to his helmet) and Espen Fadnes. They went to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in the first episode, and flew close to Christ the Redeemer. In the second, the three friends attempted to fly beneath the Aiguille du Midi bridge, which is located in the French Alps. Then they fly above China’s Tianmen mountains, where Espen Fadnes narrowly avoided colliding with a cable car. In the fourth episode, they leaped over the Piton des Neiges in the highlands of Reunion Island.
Sommer appeared in a music video for Rudimental and Emeli Sandé’s song “Free” in 2013. Sommer glides over the Eiger mountains in the Alps in a wingsuit. He had an appearance in the music video for Within Temptation’s song “Dangerous,” which features Howard Jones, formerly of Killswitch Engage. Sommer can be seen floating through the air and executing tricks like traversing a tiny space between two buildings in the footage.
