Jon Scheyer serves as the head coach for the Duke Blue Devils men’s basketball program, following a career as an All-American player and a professional athlete. After leading Glenbrook North High School to an Illinois Class AA state championship in 2005 and being named Illinois Mr. During his time at Duke University from 2006 to 2010, Scheyer was named MVP of the ACC Tournament in 2009 and a Consensus Second Team All-American in 2010. He set an ACC single-season record for minutes played with 1,470 during the 2009-10 season and remains the only player in Duke history to record at least 2,000 points, 500 rebounds, 400 assists, 250 three-pointers, and 200 steals.
He has also retained the top spot in the 2025 recruiting rankings, bringing in four top-25 prospects, including highly touted Cameron Boozer. These strategic recruiting successes underscore his ability to build and sustain a competitive program at the highest level of collegiate basketball, establishing him as a prominent figure in the sport.
