Jonathan Pearce

Jonathan Pearce established his prominent broadcasting career after his initial match commentary for BBC Radio Bristol covering a League Cup game between Bristol Rovers and Exeter City. Early in his career, Pearce quickly advanced to sports editor, before relocating to London in 1987 to join Capital Radio. There, he launched ‘Capital Gold Sportstime’ on Capital Gold in 1988, an initiative that significantly impacted radio football coverage and solidified his distinctive style. Pearce’s career expanded into television commentary with minor Premier League games for Sky Sports during the 1992–1993 season.

Beyond his broadcasting achievements, Pearce is the founding president and former director of the Lily Foundation, a charitable organization dedicated to mitochondrial disease research, highlighting his impactful philanthropic efforts.
