Joo Hyun-Jung

Joo Hyun-Jung began her archery career in 2008, making her international debut in the same year. Originally from Korea, she resides in Seoul. Known for her right-handed shooting style, Joo uses an arrow length of 26 inches (66 cm) and a draw weight of 44 lbs (20 kg). Her dedication to archery quickly led to significant achievements on the international stage.

In 2008, Joo Hyun-Jung participated in the Beijing Summer Olympics. She finished her ranking round with 664 points. During the team event, alongside teammates Park Sung-hyun and Yun Ok-hee, the South Korean team achieved a first-place ranking after the ranking round, securing a direct spot in the quarter-finals. They subsequently set a new World Record with 231 points against Italy and ultimately won the Olympic gold medal with 224 points against China. This Olympic victory marked a significant milestone in her early career. The next year, in 2009, she became a World Archery Champion in both individual and team events.

Her career continued with multiple successes, including seven gold medals in World Cup stages between 2008 and 2013, an Asian Games gold medal in the team event in 2010, and an Asian Outdoor Championships gold medal in the team event in 2013. She maintained a highest world ranking of number one as of August 16, 2010. Throughout her career, Joo Hyun-Jung consistently demonstrated high-level performance in archery competitions wordwide.
