At the University of Cincinnati from 2015 to 2019, Thompson earned unanimous American Athletic Conference Player of the Year honors three times and was recognized as a two-time AVCA All-American, securing first-team honors in 2019. During the 2018 season, she also set a Cincinnati school record with 827 kills. Her early athletic achievements also include contributing to two conference championships at Edina High School in 2011 and 2012, and leading Northern Lights Junior Volleyball to an AAU 17 Open title. Thompson began her professional career in 2019 with Fenerbahçe in Turkey, moving to Eczac?ba?? VitrA for the 20202021 season where she was named Best Outside Hitter in the 2020 Turkish Super Cup.
Since 2019, she has been a prominent member of the U.S. Women’s National Team, playing a crucial role in qualifying Team USA for the 2020 Summer Olympics. She contributed to gold medal victories in the 2019 and 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League, and also secured a gold medal at the 2019 Tokyo Qualification Tournament. At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Thompson earned a historic gold medal for the U.S.
She further added to her international accolades by securing a silver medal and being named Best Opposite at the 2023 NORCECA Continental Championship. Most recently, Thompson earned a silver medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Looking ahead, Jordan Thompson is a founding athlete for LOVB Houston, preparing to play in the league’s inaugural season in 2025. In anticipation of this, she has already been recognized as the LOVB Opposite Hitter of the Year and named to the All-League Second Team (LOVB Icons Second Team) in 2025, underscoring her continued impact and elite status in professional volleyball.
