Multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Jordin Sparks was catapulted to fame when she won the sixth season of American Idol at just 17 years old. Her victory on one of the show’s highest rated seasons helped her garner attention around the globe, and her eponymous debut album soon went platinum after selling in excess of 2 million copies worldwide. The ‘Battlefield’ singer’s first three singles all smashed into the top five, with the Chris Brown duet ‘No Air’ becoming one of the most successful tracks ever released by any American Idol contestant and reaching #27 in Billboard’s Top 40 Biggest Duets of All Time. ‘No Air’ has since been listened to more than 370 million times on Spotify and her popular singles have sold more than 10 million digital tracks in the US alone. Sparks’ follow up album Battlefield enjoyed similar success debuting on the Billboard Album chart at number seven.
Also a gifted songwriter, she co-wrote smash hit ‘The Way’ for pop megastar Ariana Grande which earned Sparks a BMI songwriting award, and she has toured with the likes of Alicia Keys, the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears as well as headlining her own tour. A talented actress, she made her movie debut playing the lead role in Sparkle alongside Whitney Houston.
Hailing from Phoenix, Arizona, Sparks took part in and won several talent competitions including America’s Most Talented Kids and Coca-Cola’s Rising Star before appearing on American Idol.
