American wrestler Joseph “Sefa” Fatu is better known as The Problem, a young wrestler who is making a big impact on the independent wrestling circuit. His most recent appearances have been for the Great Lakes Championship Wrestling (GLCW) promotion in the Midwest, but he has also been linked with All-Elite Wrestling (AEW) and the world-famous WWE franchise. The latter should come as no surprise — Fatu is part of the Anoa’i wrestling dynasty. He is the youngest son of WWE Hall of Fame legend Rikishi and his elder brothers, twins Jey and Jimmy, currently compete in WWE at the championship-winning tag team, The Usos. If that wasn’t enough, his cousin Jacob is also a pro wrestler and his other family members include current WWE champion Roman Reigns and all-time-great Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
Fatu was born in 1993, and obviously, professional wrestling was an integral part of his upbringing. However, he came relatively late to the profession, initially favouring football (he was an excellent linebacker) during his time at Dickinson State University in North Dakota. Relatively recently, however, in 2018, he switched to pro wrestling and began competing in his father’s Californian promotion, KnokX Pro. Keen to succeed on his own terms, Fatu had soon moved on to other promotions, including New Jersey-based Game Changer Wrestling (GCW).
In the few years that he’s been competing, Fatu has built a large social media following and built a strong reputation that has led to widespread rumours that he will be joining WWE. With a talent and background like his, it seems more than likely.
