Born with significant energy, Josh Killacky began his training in martial arts (Taekwondo) at the age of four. He earned his First Degree black belt by seven and a half, demonstrating early discipline and commitment. Throughout his childhood, Killacky participated in competitive martial arts, earning multiple gold and silver championships in the Junior Olympics. He also engaged in baseball and soccer for several years. At the age of twelve, Killacky discovered his passion for dance. After initial success in local hip-hop classes and competition teams, he attended masterclasses with well-known choreographers and received a scholarship for a week of training at Millennium Dance Complex in California. This experience solidified his ambition to pursue a professional dance career in California.

Killacky’s dedication to dance led him to audition for the Chicago Academy of the Arts, a performing arts high school. Despite the school’s focus on ballet, jazz, and modern styles, which were outside his primary interest at the time, he secured an almost full scholarship. His high school routine involved five hours of academics and three hours of dance daily, alongside evening rehearsals and weekend conventions. Maintaining an ‘A’ average while rigorously training, Killacky convinced his mother of his commitment to dance. In July 2011, Killacky and his mother relocated to North Hollywood, California, to further his career. By August 2011, he signed with MSA, a prominent agency in the dance industry. He completed his high school education through homeschooling in June 2012, allowing for flexibility to pursue professional opportunities.

Since moving to California, Killacky has expanded his professional portfolio significantly. He began teaching classes at Millennium Dance Complex, a goal he established early in his career. His work includes choreographing, performing in music videos for artists such as Mindless Behavior and Adam Irigoyen, and participating in video games like “Just Dance 3” and “Disney’s Just Dance Party.” His acting credits include an insurance commercial and a pilot television show where he worked with Wayne Brady. In July 2012, Killacky was awarded the Pulse Elite Protégé title, providing him with opportunities to train and assist notable choreographers including Brian Friedman, Gil Duldulao, Tessandra Chavez, and David Moore. He has also collaborated with David Moore on projects and has submitted his own choreographic pieces to his agency.
