Josh Paler Lin – also known as “the crazy Asian prankster” on YouTube – is one of most famous and creative pranksters on the planet. With more than 3.3 million subscribers on YouTube and over 508 million views, many of his videos have been distributed both nationally and across the world and have featured on TV stations including CBS, Fox News, BBC, CNN, Today’s Show, Channel 4 (UK), KABC News, NBC as well as online via LADbible and Lifehack. Lin’s YouTube channel is packed full of funny pranks, skits, social experiments, DIY and Challenge videos featuring the social media star and his friends, and his entertaining videos have either a laugh or a strong message behind each and every one of them.
Born in Taiwan, the famous YouTuber spent several childhood years growing up in Moscow, Russia before relocating to the US by himself when he was just 17 years old. After starting his career as an actor and background dancer for music videos (he appeared in the video for ‘Teach Me How to Dougie’), Lin began to post his prank videos on YouTube in November 2013 and his following soon began to grow. In 2015 his video “How Does a Homeless Man Spend $100?” video went viral, and although it has since been the subject of some scrutiny has now been viewed more than 52 million times.
