Joshua Jackson

Joshua Carter Jackson was born on June 11, 1978, in Vancouver, British Columbia. His mother, Fiona Jackson, is a casting director from Dublin, Ireland, and his father, John Carter Jackson, is from Texas. Jackson spent his early childhood in California before returning to Canada at the age of eight. He developed an interest in acting at 11, securing a commercial for Keebler’s potato chips, which marked the beginning of his professional career.

Jackson achieved early recognition for his role as Charlie Conway in “The Mighty Ducks” film series, appearing in “The Mighty Ducks” (1992), “D2: The Mighty Ducks” (1994), and “D3: The Mighty Ducks” (1996). A significant turning point in his career was his portrayal of Pacey Witter in The WB’s teen drama “Dawson’s Creek,” from 1998 to 2003, where he appeared in 124 episodes and also directed one episode in 2003. During this period, he also acted in films such as “Cruel Intentions” (1999), “The Skulls” (2000), and made a cameo as himself in “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001).

His career continued with notable roles, including Peter Bishop in the Fox science fiction series “Fringe” (2008–2013), which ran for 100 episodes. He also starred as Cole Lockhart in Showtime’s “The Affair” (2014–2019) across 43 episodes, and later as Christopher Duntsch in the Peacock crime drama “Dr. Death” (2021), a role for which he received a Critics’ Choice Television Award nomination. Recent projects include “Little Fires Everywhere” (2020) as Bill Richardson and “Fatal Attraction” (2023) as Dan Gallagher, alongside his executive producer role on “Doctor Odyssey” (2024-2025). Jackson has also engaged in stage work, including a Broadway debut in “Children of a Lesser God” in 2018.
