Yanelli’s passion for theatre began in highschool, when she decided acting was an endeavor she wanted to pursue. After high school, she became a student of the arts and eventually obtained a BFA in Musical Theatre from Texas State University. While attending the school, she trained in all aspects of the theatre industry, in hopes of becoming a well-rounded artist. After college, she worked hard in building and broadening. After joining several smaller production casts, she began creating a name for herself in the industry. Persevering, she was able to score a role in Law and Order: Special Victims Unit in 2017 and thus made her first on screen appearance.
After years of perfecting her craft, Yanelli was able to fulfill her dream and join the cast of Mean Girls. The production was nominated for 12 Tony awards. Thanks to Mean Girls, Yanelli has been given the opportunity to appear on both Saturday Night Live and The Today Show. Her ultimate goal is to eventually have a lead role in a Broadway production. With her work ethic and skillset, there’s no doubt she will have one soon.
