Memphis-born singer-songwriter Justin “JR” Moore first tasted musical success with alternative rock band Ingram Hill during the 2010s. In 2019, he launched his solo career with an EP entitled Rocket. He has since followed that with ‘What It Takes’, a single that saw him collaborate with Todd Wright and Ethan Mentzer. In the wake of the pandemic, he has also hit the road hard, playing live shows across America every chance he gets.
Moore formed Ingram Hill back in 2000 with a group of friends he met at the University of Memphis. They toured the south and southeast of America relentlessly, supporting major-name acts like Hootie & The Blowfish, building up a sizeable following, and eventually releasing their debut EP, 2002’s Until Now, which sold over 10,000 copies — an impressive amount for a first EP released on a small indie label. Their debut album, June’s Picture Show was produced by future YouTube star Rick Beato and released in 2004. They continued to build their reputation by touring with the likes of Maroon 5, Hanson, and Lisa Marie Presley. They also recorded a cover of Boston’s rock classic, ‘More Than a Feeling’ for the Herbie movie soundtrack and a cover of Queen’s ‘39’ for the Killer Queen tribute album.
Ingram Hill’s second LP, Cold in California, made the US Billboard Heatseekers Charts, as did the follow-up, Look Your Best. However, the band’s greatest success came with what turned out to be their final album (to date), 2012’s self-titled effort, which made both the Heatseekers chart and the Top 50 of the US Country Charts.
