Judy Trammell was born on April 29, 1958, in Dallas, Texas, where she also grew up and graduated from R.L. Turner High School. Her foundational training in jazz, pom, drill team, and tap dance prepared her for a significant career in cheerleading and choreography. In 1980, Trammell became a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader (DCC), where she spent four seasons, also serving as a group leader and a show group member. Her early career as a cheerleader provided her with direct experience and understanding of the demands and artistry of the role, which would later inform her leadership.
In 1984, Trammell transitioned into an administrative role as the Assistant Choreographer for the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. Her talent and dedication led to her promotion to Head Choreographer in 1991, a position she has held ever since. In this role, she has been instrumental in refining the cheerleaders’ performances, adapting to evolving dance styles, and maintaining the high standards expected of the DCC. Her work extends beyond the field, including choreography for various music artists, television shows, and events. She has also appeared as herself in reality television series like *Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team* (2006–2021) and the Netflix series *America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders* (2024–present), showcasing her expertise and leadership.
Throughout her tenure, Judy Trammell has been a consistent figure in the DCC organization, working alongside Director Kelli Finglass to uphold the team’s legacy while also fostering its evolution.
