Sports anchor and sideline reporter Julia Morales is known for her work with AT&T SportsNet Southwest, for whom she covers a range of sports, and for acting as sideline reporter for the American professional baseball team the Houston Astros. She has covered a broad range of sporting events, including the Super Bowl, NBA Finals, World Series, and College Baseball World Series, even taking home an Emmy for her contribution to the weekly show Astro Bases Loaded.
Growing up in a small town east of Dallas, Texas, Morales has been a sports fan since her youth. She graduated from the University of Texas before interning with an affiliate in Austin and making the decision to chase her dream job: sportscasting. Her first step on the ladder landed her in Sherman, working as weekend sports anchor for KTEN. This was a huge learning experience for Morales, helping her develop the skills and personality that make her such a beloved sports anchor. After leaving KTEN, Morales left North Texas to take on the same position at CBS 19 in Tyler.
Over in East Texas, Morales covered some of the state’s most significant high school football games, while spending Sundays following the Dallas Cowboys, and even covering the Texas Rangers’ debut World Series appearance. Now residing in Houston and working for AT&T SportsNet Southwest, she is a member of the Houston Astros broadcast team and hosts the beloved weekly show Astros Bases Loaded.
