Julian Edelman

Julian Edelman’s professional football career began when the New England Patriots drafted him in the seventh round of the 2009 NFL Draft as the 232nd overall pick. Initially transitioning from a collegiate quarterback to a versatile return specialist and wide receiver, he quickly demonstrated his value. In his rookie year (2009), he scored his first NFL touchdown and achieved his first 100-yard receiving game. Edelman set a Patriots franchise record in 2010 with the longest punt return in history, a 94-yard play, and earned his first AFC Special Teams Player of the Week award in 2011.

By 2013, he became a primary offensive starter, securing his first 1,000-yard receiving season and briefly becoming the NFL’s all-time leader in career punt return average. He also became the third Patriots player to catch over 100 passes in a single season that year. Edelman was a pivotal figure in the New England Patriots’ historic dynastic run, contributing to three Super Bowl victories: XLIX (2015), LI (2017), and LIII (2019). His postseason performances were consistently exceptional, holding Super Bowl records for punt returns and first-half receptions in a single game.

He co-founded Nuthouse Sports, a production company, and continues to host successful podcasts, engaging a wide audience with his insights and analysis.
