Julie Caitlin Brown

Julie Caitlin Brown was born on January 27, 1961, in San Francisco, California. Her career began in theater, notably as Mary Magdalene in a professional production of “Jesus Christ Superstar” in 1983. In the late 1980s, she expanded into commercial and television work in Florida. Transitioning to New York City in 1990, Brown appeared in the Williamstown Theatre Festival’s production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” and a Broadway production of “Grand Hotel.” These early stage experiences laid the groundwork for her diverse career in entertainment.

In 1992, Brown moved back to California, where she secured guest-starring roles in several television series. A significant turning point in her career came with her casting as Na’Toth in the first season of the science fiction series “Babylon 5.” She appeared in five episodes in this role. After declining to stay for a second season, the role was recast. However, Brown made guest appearances in later seasons, including as a human lawyer in a second-season episode and reprising her role as Na’Toth in the fifth season’s “A Tragedy of Telepaths.” Her work in science fiction continued with roles in “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” and “Sliders.”

Beyond acting, Julie Caitlin Brown has also contributed as a producer and writer. In 2010, she wrote, produced, and starred in the short film “Thoughts of Suicide on an Otherwise Lovely Day.” She later co-produced films such as “Hunter Prey” (2010), “Displacement” (2016) and served as an executive producer. Brown has also pursued a music career, releasing her first CD, “Sheddin’ My Skin,” in 1998, followed by “Struck by Lightning” in 2002. As a talent agent, she has represented other actors, including notable figures from science fiction series like Christopher Judge and Michael Shanks.
