Julius Peppers

Julius Peppers transitioned from a dominant NFL defensive end to a respected figure in professional football business operations, with a recent induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. After leading the nation with 15 quarterback sacks in 2000, Julius Peppers solidified his status as a premier defensive talent, earning first-team All-ACC and second-team All-American honors during his time at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (1998-2001). His junior year in 2001 was exceptionally decorated, as he was recognized as a unanimous first-team All-American, and awarded the Chuck Bednarik Award, Lombardi Award, and Bill Willis Trophy for his defensive prowess. Notably, he also contributed to the North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team that reached the Final Four in the 1999–2000 season.

Returning to the Carolina Panthers for a second stint (2017-2018) on a 1-year contract in 2017, Peppers continued to make his mark, notably achieving his 150th career sack and earning NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in 2017. He retired from the NFL in 2019, having been named to both the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team and the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, underscoring his sustained excellence across two decades. Post-retirement, Peppers transitioned into the business side of professional football, joining the Carolina Panthers as a Special Assistant of Business Operations in 2019. His impactful contributions to the sport have garnered significant recognition.

In 2023, Julius Peppers was inducted into the Carolina Panthers Hall of Honor, and in 2024, he achieved the pinnacle of individual football recognition with his selection for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
