About

Justin Moorhouse was born in Manchester, England, UK, in 1970. He started his career in comedy at the age of 29, after working as a salesman. His initial foray into stand-up comedy at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester led to him winning a local comedy competition in 2002. This early success paved the way for a national comedy tour. His career transitioned into acting with a notable role as Young Kenny in the television series “Phoenix Nights” (2001-2002), where he appeared in 12 episodes. His acting credits further expanded with roles in films like “Looking for Eric” (2009) as Spleen and television series such as “Coronation Street” where he played multiple characters including a Radio Presenter, Dean Upton, and Duggie across six episodes from 2011 to 2023.

Moorhouse has also made significant contributions to radio and television comedy. He presented various shows on Manchester’s Key 103 radio station, including weekday drive and afternoon slots, and a Sunday morning show with Jennie McAlpine. His radio work also includes writing and appearing in his own BBC Radio 4 sitcom, “Everyone Quite Likes Justin.” He is a regular guest on BBC Radio 5 Live’s “7 Day Sunday” and “Fighting Talk,” and was crowned the “Fighting Talk” Champion of Champions in 2013-2014. His presence on television expanded to include appearances on “Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow” in 2010, “Celebrity Mastermind” in 2011-2012 where he won, and guest roles in “Still Open All Hours” (2013).

Beyond his comedic and acting roles, Justin Moorhouse has engaged in various branded campaigns. He voiced the “Vimtoad” for Vimto’s advertising campaign in 2014 and has done branded TV and online campaigns for O2, Virgin Holidays, DFS, and Manchester United Television (MUTV). He also presented online content from the Rio Olympics in 2016 and the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. Constantly touring, he is a regular at the Edinburgh Fringe and frequently appears on shows like “Richard Osman’s House of Games,” “Qi,” “Live At The Apollo,” and Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s “Countdown.”
