Karl Collins is an English actor who is best known for his television roles as Danny Glaze in The Bill, Louis Loveday in Hollyoaks and Shaun Temple in Doctor Who. Collins hails from Nottingham, and was a member of the Central Junior Television Workshop, which led to him appearing in the programmes Dramarama and Your Mother Wouldn’t Like It.
Collins went on to star in Eastenders alongside the character of Frank Butcher, as well as DC Danny Glaze in The Bill of which he is incredibly well known. Collins has also appeared in Casualty, Holby City, By Any Means, As Time Goes On, 55 Degrees North and Shane Meadow’s debut film Twenty Four Seven. Collins has also appeared in an episode of the critically acclaimed anthology series Black Mirror, as well as the prestigious christmas special of Doctor Who as Donna Noble’s fiance. Collins has also been a part of the Channel 4 soap opera Hollyoaks as a regular character of Louis Loveday, and has appeared in the BBC Drama Our Zoo.
Most recently, Collins has been involved in BBC Radio 3’s Lockdown Theatre Festival, and has been working with Ben Nu Creative House on their projects to help artists support artists. Collins is a huge believer in making sure the Arts are ethnically diverse and posts about his opinions on his Instagram to over eight thousand followers.
