Karla Puno Garcia is an Emmy Award-winning choreographer and dancer known for her work on Broadway, television, and film. After reaching the Top 7 female finalist spot on season five of ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ Karla Puno Garcia went on to establish a robust career on Broadway and television. She performed in Broadway productions of ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Gigi,’ and was a dedicated swing in ‘Hamilton’ for six years. Her national tour credits include ‘Wicked’ and ‘Addams Family,’ with television dancing appearances in Season 2 of ‘Smash’ in 2013.
The film garnered critical acclaim, selected by over ten film festivals including LA Film Festival, Kalkari Film Festival, Indie Cinema Awards, and Cannes Indie Shorts. In 2024, Garcia was named one of Dance Magazine’s highly anticipated 25 to Watch. Her journey has also been highlighted in the ENSEMBLE documentary and on The Ensemblist Podcast (#517 – Choreographers Making Moves).
