Karlie Kloss has evolved from a supermodel gracing international runways and covers to a technology advocate and entrepreneur, inspiring young women in STEM and leading in media. After being discovered by Elite Chicago in 2005, Karlie Kloss quickly established herself in the fashion industry, signing with Elite New York in 2006 and Next Management in 2008. By 2008, Kloss had walked 31 runways at New York Fashion Week, including exclusive appearances for Calvin Klein and opening/closing for major designers. Her early impact was recognized when Vogue Paris named her one of the ‘top 30 models of the 2000s’ in 2009.
She also launched her YouTube channel, ‘Klossy,’ that year. Kloss was named the new face of Swarovski (2016) and appeared as a correspondent on the Netflix series ‘Bill Nye Saves the World’ (2017). In 2017, she received the Diane von Furstenberg Inspiration Award, announcing her TV show ‘Movie Night with Karlie Kloss.’ In 2018, she was appointed Estée Lauder’s newest global spokesmodel and brand ambassador, and became the host and executive producer for ‘Project Runway’ from 2019. Most recently, Kloss has transitioned into significant entrepreneurial and media leadership roles.
In 2023, she acquired i-D Magazine and assumed the role of its CEO, expanding her influence in digital and print media. Building on this, in March 2024, she and Joshua Kushner revived the iconic Life magazine for print and digital distribution through their new venture, Bedford Media. Beyond her media empire, Kloss is an active investor in innovative companies like Seed and advocates for various social and political causes, solidifying her status as a multifaceted leader.
