Kate Fahey

Kate Fahey, born on October 19, 1996, in Fair Haven, New Jersey, established herself as a notable athlete early in her career. She committed to the University of Michigan, where she majored in International Studies and embarked on a distinguished collegiate tennis career. During her time at Michigan, Fahey excelled, becoming a three-time ITA All-American and a two-time Big Ten Player of the Year in 2018 and 2019. She holds the University of Michigan’s record for career singles wins with 132 and the highest career winning percentage at .815. Her achievements include reaching the quarterfinals of the 2017 NCAA Singles Championship and finishing as the NCAA Doubles Runner-Up with Brienne Minor in 2019. In the same year, she was also a Honda Award Finalist.

Following her successful collegiate career, Fahey pursued professional tennis, achieving career-high rankings of No. 492 in doubles and No. 505 in singles. However, her professional tennis career was impacted by wrist injuries, leading to her retirement from the sport. Her introduction to pickleball occurred when a colleague invited her to a local tournament. This casual invitation marked a turning point, as she quickly embraced pickleball and decided to pursue it professionally, turning pro in 2023.

Since transitioning to pickleball, Kate Fahey has rapidly ascended in the ranks. She currently holds the #2 ranking in singles on the PPA Tour with 12,400 points, #13 in mixed doubles with 2875 points, and #20 in doubles with 3650 points. Her PPA Tour tournament results include a Gold medal in Women’s Singles at the PPA Tour: Pickleball Central Sacramento Vintage Open where she defeated Genie Bouchard in 2025. She also secured a Silver medal in Mixed Doubles at the same event in 2025 with Dylan Frazier. Her career progression exemplifies adaptability and continued athletic excellence across different sports.
