Kenny Lattimore is a musician, singer, songwriter, label head and soul music extraordinaire, with a wealth of experience of different types in the music industry. His eponymous debut album with Columbia Records catapulted him to stardom in 1995; it was critically and commercially acclaimed, with chart-topping tracks Never Too Busy and For You. The latter track was nominated for a Grammy. The album itself, a heady mix of soul and classical-infused R&B, reached #6 on the R&B charts and was Gold-certified.
Lattimore, born in Washington D.C, spent his early life surrounded by music and performance. He joined different soul groups through his childhood and into his college career at the prestigious Howard University in Washington. Upon moving to New York after graduation, he was signed to Columbia Records, where he released his debut album and the subsequent From the Soul of a Man. After releasing several stellar acclaimed albums with this label, he set up his own independent, SincereSoul Records, in 2012.
In Lattimore’s new role of record label head, he took an active part in producing his own music. He has released three albums, the most prolific of which was A Kenny Lattimore Christmas, in 2016. This album cemented his position as a legendary R&B crooner, reaching #3 on the Billboard Gospel Charts. He has collaborated with performers such as the icon Kanye West and Musiq Soulchild.
