Keyshawn Johnson transitioned from a highly drafted NFL wide receiver to a Super Bowl champion, and later to a prominent sports analyst and businessman. After a standout collegiate career that included two All-American honors and a Rose Bowl record, Keyshawn Johnson was selected as the first overall pick in the 1996 NFL Draft by the New York Jets, a rare distinction for a wide receiver. During his collegiate years at the University of Southern California (USC) in 1994 and 1995, Johnson was a two-time All-American, earning the Paul Warfield Trophy, Pop Warner Trophy, and Pac-10 Offensive Player of the Year in 1995. He was named MVP of the 1995 Cotton Bowl Classic and set a Rose Bowl record with 12 receptions for 216 yards as Player of the Game in the 1996 Rose Bowl.
He also showcased his versatility on television, participating in series like ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘Keyshawn Johnson: Tackling Design.’ In 2020, Johnson expanded his media footprint by co-hosting the highly rated ESPN Radio morning show ‘KJM’ and frequently appearing on prominent programs like ‘Get Up’ and ‘First Take.’ His significant contributions to the sport were honored in 2008 with his induction into the Rose Bowl Hall of Fame, solidifying his legacy as one of the game’s most impactful figures.
