Kiernan Brennan Shipka was born in Chicago, Illinois, on November 10, 1999. She began her career at a very young age, engaging in commercial-print modeling as an infant and making her television debut at five months old in the hospital drama *ER*. Her family moved to Los Angeles, California, when she was six to support her burgeoning acting career. Shipka quickly established herself, leading to her breakout role and continued presence in both film and television.

Her defining role came as Sally Draper in the AMC drama series *Mad Men*, which she joined in 2007.
