Kiley Neushul

Kiley Susan Neushul was born on March 5, 1993, in Goleta, California. She grew up in Isla Vista, California, with her parents, Peter and Cathy, and her two younger sisters, Jamie and Ryann. All three sisters played water polo from an early age, with their mother Cathy, a longtime water polo coach, being a significant influence. Kiley began playing for Santa Barbara Aquatics in 1999, helping her team win the Club Championships title in 2011 and earning All-American honors for women’s opens in the same year. She attended Dos Pueblos High School, graduating in 2011. During her high school career, she led the girls’ water polo team to four consecutive CIF Southern Section titles—Division II in 2008, and Division I from 2009 to 2011. Neushul was named the Southern Section Player of the Year for all four years of her high school tenure, achieving an impressive 67 consecutive wins with her team.

Neushul continued her academic and athletic career at Stanford University, where she earned a degree in Communications. While at Stanford from 2012 to 2015, she played alongside her younger sister, Jamie, for two of those years. During her collegiate career, Neushul contributed to three NCAA Championships victories for the Cardinal. She was honored with the Peter J. Cutino Award twice, recognizing her as the top player in collegiate water polo in both 2012, as a freshman, and again in 2015, as a senior. Her collegiate achievements also include being named the ACWPC Player of the Year and MPSF Newcomer of the Year. She was a First-Team All-American for three of her four years at Stanford and concluded her collegiate career ranking third in Stanford history with 220 career goals.

Neushul’s international career began in 2009 with the USA National Team pipeline, initially playing with the Junior Team until 2014. She became an alternate for the Senior Team at the 2010 FINA World Cup. Officially joining the Senior Team in 2013, she participated in the FINA World Cup Qualifiers, the Holiday Cup, and the FINA World Championships. Her significant achievements include a gold medal at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games. She also secured gold medals at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in 2015, 2017, and 2019, the Pan American Games in 2015 and 2019, and the Universiade in 2017. Professionally, Neushul played for C.N. Sabadell in Spain from 2016 to 2019, contributing to the team’s League Champions title and their victory as European Final Four Champions in 2019.
