Talented Kristen Kenney is a popular sportscaster who has covered golf, rallycross, and most famously, NBA. She was a courtside and team reporter for the Utah Jazz for five years between 2016 and 2021. When her contract wasn’t renewed ahead of the 2021-2022 season, fans were outraged and a petition was set up to reinstate her. However, Kenney, ever the professional entrepreneur and career woman, had already moved on to her next project, becoming the manager of ambassador partnerships for American smart home company Vivint. She is also the co-founder of brand marketing and management company Peak 45.
Kenney graduated from the University of Miami with a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism back in 2006. She soon found her first reporting jobs and, from 2010, began making a name for herself as a sports reporter, first with Fox, with whom she covered the 2012 Olympics, and then for CBS and ESPN. After a stint presenting for the Golf Channel (which saw her spend time living in Jamaica), she spent almost three years in Los Angeles as the pit reporter and host of NBC’s Red Bull Global Rallycross series.
In the summer of 2016, Kenney relocated to Salt Lake City, becoming the sideline reporter for NBA giants, the Utah Jazz. She covered both home and away games and became an embedded reporter with the team too, interviewing them for live broadcasts. During this time, she built a huge social media following with over 50,000 fans across Twitter and Instagram. She has used these platforms to give back and advocate for good mental health and women’s equality.
