Kyle, also known as SuperDuperKyle, has transitioned from an aspiring rapper to a Billboard-charting artist and actor, best known for his hit single 'iSpy' and his distinctive positive approach within the music industry.
KYLE was included as a part of MTV's PUSH Artists To Watch campaign and had a marketing campaign with Ugg x Footaction, performing “iSpy” on national television stages.
Kyle Thomas Harvey, born on May 18, 1993, in Los Angeles, California, and raised in Ventura, navigated a challenging youth marked by a speech impediment and experiences of being bullied. He began singing at age six and started rapping around thirteen, finding an early artistic influence in Kid Cudi’s music. His initial musical endeavors involved recording on his aunt’s computer during high school, laying the groundwork for a career that would later see him collaborating with notable artists and achieving mainstream success. Kyle’s early independent releases, starting in 2009 under monikers like KiddKash and K.i.D., included mixtapes such as ‘Senior Year’ and ‘Super Duper’. These projects allowed him to develop his unique sound and build a foundational grassroots fanbase, often through direct engagement and self-promotion on social media platforms.
His career began to gain momentum with the release of his commercial mixtape ‘Beautiful Loser’ in 2013. This was followed by ‘Smyle’ in October 2015, an album that reached number 76 on the Billboard 200 and featured a collaboration with Chance the Rapper on the track “Remember Me?”. The same year, his music video for “Keep It Real” achieved over a million views, marking an early milestone in his growing online presence. A significant turning point occurred in December 2016 with the release of “iSpy” featuring Lil Yachty. This song rapidly gained widespread recognition, climbing to number 4 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and number 14 on the Canadian Hot 100. This commercial success led to a recording deal with Atlantic Records in February 2017 and his inclusion in XXL magazine’s 2017 Freshman Class.
In March 2018, Kyle announced his debut studio album, ‘Light of Mine’, which was released on May 18, 2018. The album, featuring artists like Kehlani and Khalid, debuted at number 29 on the Billboard 200, further solidifying his position in the music scene. Beyond music, Kyle made his acting debut as the lead in the 2018 Netflix film ‘The After Party’ and released a single for the movie, “Moment” featuring Wiz Khalifa. His second album, ‘See You When I Am Famous’, was released in July 2020, followed by ‘It’s Not So Bad’ in 2022, his first project as an independent artist. In 2024, he released ‘Smyle Again’, continuing to release music and perform.
