Kyle Ahrens

Kyle Ahrens is a former collegiate basketball guard/forward who played for the Michigan State Spartans from 2015 to 2020. After earning Associated Press Division III First Team All-Ohio honors in 2015, Kyle Ahrens committed to the Michigan State men’s basketball program as a formidable guard/forward. During his senior high school season, Ahrens averaged an impressive 30.0 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, also participating in the American Family Insurance High School Slam Dunk Championship in 2015. He officially joined the Michigan State Spartans for the 2015-16 season, appearing in 26 games during his freshman year while averaging 1.2 points and 0.6 rebounds in 3.3 minutes per game.

He continued to set personal bests, tying his career high with seven rebounds against the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2020, and simultaneously achieving a career-high efficiency rating of 15 in the same game. Throughout his collegiate career, Ahrens was also recognized for his academic prowess, balancing his athletic commitments with strong scholastic performance. He was selected to the prestigious National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Honors Court in 2018, acknowledging his achievement of maintaining a GPA of 3.2 or higher. Additionally, he earned multiple Academic All-Big Ten selections, further underscoring his commitment to excellence both on the court and in his studies at Michigan State through 2018.
