Kyren Wilson, born on December 23, 1991, in Kettering, England, began his professional snooker career with his tour debut in the 2010-11 season after ranking fifth in the 2009-10 International Open Series. Despite dropping off the tour after one season, he regained his professional status for the 2013-14 season and has maintained it since. Early in his career, he showed potential by reaching the main stage of a ranking event for the first time at the 2013 Shanghai Masters, where he defeated higher-ranked opponents like Stuart Bingham and Marco Fu before losing in the quarter-finals to Michael Holt. The following year, he made his first appearance at the main stage of the World Championship in 2014, narrowly losing to Ricky Walden in the first round.
