The fantastic record-breaking athlete Lamont Marcell Jacobs is a professional track and field sprinter and a former long jumper. He is 2x Olympic Gold medalist, the 2022 60 meters World champion, and the 2022 European 100 metres champion, as well as being the first Italian to ever qualify for and win the men’s 100 metres Olympic final. He has also won nine national championships at individual senior level.
Born in Texas to an American serviceman and an Italian woman, Jacobs was raised in Italy from the age of three weeks after his father was posted to South Korea and his parents separated. When he was ten-years-old he began competing in athletics, preferring sprinting until he discovered the long jump in 2011. By 2016 his long jump career had taken leaps and bounds, going on to win the Italian Athletics Championships as well as his first International event Gold medal at the Mediterranean U23 Championships in Tunis in the same year. However, by 2019 he had decided to concentrate on sprinting and it proved to be a inspired choice, as he went on to claim six more International event Gold medals, including two at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in 100 m and 4x 100 m relay.
Jacobs regularly connects with his hundreds of thousands of followers and fans through TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, posting pictures and videos of his athletic life.
