Lance Stroll was born on October 29, 1998, in Montreal, Canada. He began competitive kart racing at the age of 10, winning regional and national titles. In 2010, Stroll joined the Ferrari Driver Academy. He transitioned to junior formulae in 2014, winning the Italian F4 Championship with Prema. In 2015, he secured the Toyota Racing Series championship with M2 Competition. Stroll then dominated the FIA Formula 3 European Championship in 2016 with Prema, winning 14 races and 20 podiums. In 2016, he also competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona, finishing 5th.

Stroll made his Formula One debut in 2017 with Williams Martini Racing at the age of 18. In his rookie season, he became the youngest rookie to achieve a podium finish at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix. He also became the youngest driver to start on the front row at the Italian Grand Prix in 2017. After two seasons with Williams, Stroll moved to Racing Point in 2019. In 2020, he achieved his maiden pole position at the Turkish Grand Prix and secured two additional podium finishes at the Italian and Sakhir Grands Prix. His father, Lawrence Stroll, led the consortium that took over Force India, which later became Racing Point and then Aston Martin.

Since 2021, Stroll has driven for Aston Martin, partnering with Sebastian Vettel for two seasons and then Fernando Alonso since 2023. He finished a career-best tenth in the World Drivers’ Championship in 2023. Stroll has continued to compete in Formula One, with the 2025 season marking his ninth year as an F1 driver, continuing with Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team alongside Fernando Alonso.
