Larissa Franklin

An Olympic bronze medalist for Team Canada, Larissa Franklin has established herself as a formidable presence in international softball through a career marked by consistent achievement and record-breaking performances. Franklin’s impactful tenure with the Canadian National Team commenced in 2011 at the WBSC Junior Women’s World Championship, where the team finished fifth. She swiftly ascended to the senior team in 2013, making her debut in the World Cup of Softball and playing a key role in Canada’s silver medal victory at the WBSC Americas Qualifier. Demonstrating exceptional prowess and reliability in the outfield, Franklin became a consistent fixture in subsequent WBSC Women’s Softball World Championships, contributing to the team’s strong finishes and notably securing bronze medals in both the 2016 and 2018 tournaments.

Making her highly anticipated Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, Franklin recorded four hits and three RBIs, directly contributing to Canada earning its historic bronze medal. Most recently, Franklin continued her international success by once again contributing to Team Canada’s bronze medal victory at the 2024 WBSC Women’s Softball World Cup, underscoring her ongoing value to the national program. Off the field, she pursued a major in psychological science with a minor in health and nutrition, complementing her athletic discipline with a robust academic background. Franklin also dedicates her time as an athlete ambassador for KidSport BC, actively advocating for youth participation and development in sports across the province.
