Larry Lamb is a presenter, actor and television and radio personality, whose decades in the public eye have made him one of Britain’s most recognised and loved media figures. On screen, he is equally adept playing villains or heroes, and is best known for his roles in Gavin & Stacey and EastEnders.
Lamb had early television roles in shows such as Fox and Armchair Thriller, but he gained wider fame on the BBC’s early 1980s ferry-based soap Triangle, in which he starred for the programme’s three seasons. He has had dozens of further roles over the years on popular shows including A Touch of Frost, Casualty, Spooks and Midsomer Murders, and has appeared in films including Buster and Essex Boys. His stage work has included critically acclaimed performances at the Almeida, the National Theatre, the Royal Court, and on the West End and Broadway. He is today best known for playing the roles of Mick in BBC comedy Gavin & Stacey, Archie Mitchell in EastEnders, and Ted Case in crime drama New Tricks.
In recent years, Lamb has become known for his presenting roles.
He hosted a regular Sunday morning show on LBC, has presented documentaries for Channel 5 and More4, and is a some-time guest reporter for the BBC’s The One Show. He has appeared on Gareth’s All Star Choir for Children in Need, and took part in the 2016 series of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! He has also appeared on several programmes with his son, the radio DJ and television host George Lamb.
