Laura Vandervoort

Laura Vandervoort gained significant recognition for her lead role as Sadie Harrison in the CTV teen drama series Instant Star, which ran for four seasons from 2004 to 2008 and established her as a consistent performer in the Canadian entertainment industry. Her career expanded significantly with her portrayal of Kara Zor-El, Supergirl, in The CW’s Smallville, appearing as a regular in season seven (2007-2008) and returning for impactful guest spots in seasons eight and ten (2011). During this period, Vandervoort also took on a role in the critically acclaimed feature film The Lookout (2007) alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Jeff Daniels, demonstrating her versatility across mediums. Following her breakthrough roles, Vandervoort secured a main role as Lisa in ABC’s science fiction series V from 2009 to 2011.

She made her directorial debut with the short film My Soul to Take (2021), which she also wrote, showcasing her talent behind the camera. During 2020, she filmed five feature films, further expanding her on-screen presence, and guest-starred in Hulu’s Emmy-winning series The Handmaid’s Tale in 2021. Her most recent projects include the lead role in the thriller Black Bags (2023) and joining the cast of the CTV/CW series Sullivan’s Crossing (2023). Beyond acting and filmmaking, Vandervoort has published her first children’s book, Super-Duper Deelia, now available worldwide on Amazon, further extending her creative reach.
