Lauren Howe

Lauren Howe, born on July 7, 1993, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, is an actress, television host, and former beauty pageant titleholder. She pursued industrial engineering at the University of Toronto, where she was recognized as one of the ‘Top Ten Female Students to Watch.’ Her background includes French, German, and Ukrainian heritage, and she was raised by a single mother. Her early career in pageantry was initially driven by scholarship opportunities, which led her to significant achievements and platforms for advocacy.

Her pageantry career commenced with winning Miss Teen Canada World in 2011, subsequently placing in the top five at Miss Teen World. During this period, she utilized her platform to champion education and careers in STEM fields, particularly for women. In 2014, she competed in Miss Universe Canada, securing the position of 2nd runner-up. Her dedication to pageantry culminated in her being crowned Miss Universe Canada 2017 on October 7, 2017. Following this, she represented Canada at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant in Las Vegas in November, where she placed in the Top 10.

Simultaneously with her pageantry, Howe developed a career in hosting and acting. From 2014 to 2016, she served as the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Maple Leafs. Her hosting experience extends to events such as the IIHF World U20 Championship, the 2015 Pan American Games, the Invictus Games, and the Rogers Cup. In 2016, she became a correspondent for Citytv, co-hosting the Canadian National Broadcast of the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. She is a regular personality on Breakfast Television and CityLine, and has guest-hosted Breakfast Television. As an actress, her credits include roles in ‘BlackBerry’ (2023), ‘Reacher’ (2022), and ‘Neon Lights’ (2022). She is represented by Sutherland Models and Butler Ruston Bell for her modeling and acting work, respectively. In September 2023, Howe announced her engagement to Brayden Irwin.
