Coined “one of the most influential folks in the fitness space” by BarBend, Layne Norton is a retired bodybuilder turned nutritional scientist and entrepreneur. He currently holds the world record for IPF 93 kg squats. Passionate about natural building, Norton has since made a career about healthy bulking by creating consulting and supplement businesses.
Norton began competing at the age of nineteen and spent the 2000s as one of the top bodybuilders in the industry, earning seven titles, including the IFPA Pro International Heavyweight Championship. This opportunity led him to the world stage, where he placed fifth. After the decade, Norton switched focus to raw elite powerlifting, earning six titles. He even previously held the record for the USAPL National Deadlifting Championship.
Following his athletic career, Norton transformed this passion into a business. He first earned a PhD in Nutritional Science from the University of Illinois before founding the company, BioLayne LLC, offering affordable subscriptions for customizable workout plans. Next, he cofounded Carbon Diet Coach, an app for science-based nutrition, before launching his own line of supplements. And with the help of his successful social media marketing campaigns, these businesses exploded, and so did Norton’s fanbase. Currently, he has over 100K Twitter followers, over 165K Facebook followers, and a whopping 415K Instagram followers.
Lastly, Norton also brings his knowledge to his writing. As a nutritional scientist, he’s penned nine scientific publications, as well as his self-help book: Fat Loss Forever.
