Lex Medlin was born on March 30, 1969, in Auburn, Lee County, Alabama, USA. He pursued formal training in acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California, from 1990 to 1991. Early in his career, Medlin gained recognition through appearances in various local and Spanish-market advertisements, which provided a foundation for his transition into television and film.
Medlin’s acting career began with guest appearances and minor film roles. A notable early television credit includes a role in an episode of “Beverly Hills, 90210” in 1993. He later appeared in popular shows such as “Friends” (1999) and “Charmed” (1999). His career progressed with a recurring role in the UPN sitcom “Rock Me Baby” from 2003 to 2004, appearing in 10 episodes. In 2005, Medlin co-starred in and produced the short film “The Hot Sand.” He became a main cast member in the Fox sitcom “Happy Hour” in 2006, portraying Larry Cone.
A significant career development occurred in 2011 when Medlin began a recurring role as Judge Owen French in the Lifetime legal drama “Drop Dead Diva.” He was promoted to a series regular for the show’s fourth season in 2012, further solidifying his presence in television. More recently, Medlin has been part of “CSI: Vegas,” appearing in 31 episodes from 2022 to 2024, and had roles in “Raven’s Home” (2022), “Never Have I Ever” (2022), and “Mayans M.C.” (2022).
