Current British No.4 and hard-hitting left hander Liam Broady is one of Great Britain’s youngest current tennis stars. Even before turning professional in 2014, Broady had already clinched several Gland Slam junior titles, both in singles and doubles. These include junior doubles titles at Wimbledon in 2010, the Australian Open in 2012 and reaching the doubles finals of the US Open also in 2012. With Dan Evans, he also won the Chiswick GB Futures F11. As a junior singles player he reached Wimbledon’s finals in 2011, the French Open’s 3rd round in 2012 and the US Open final also in 2012. In this year, the 18-year-old began at the Mouratoglou Tennis Academy and achieved a ranking of No.2 on the junior combined world rankings. In 2014, the rising talent reached his first Challenger final in Charlottesville, where he consequently became the world No.188 and British No.3 at the age of 20. The following year Broady won his first Wimbledon match, advancing to the 2nd round. Powering ahead into 2016, he then won the GB F1 Futures, reached several Challenger tour quarter-finals and semi-finals and once again competed at Wimbledon, this time against no less than Andy Murray. In 2017 he played several ATP World Tour events as well as gaining a runner-up title at the Las Vegas Tennis Open. The following year, he made his Davis Cup debut, and following various Challenger tour successes, reached his career high ranking of No.154. In 2019 he reached various quarter and semi-finals in Challenger tours as well as a final in Mexico. In 2020, he has continued to demonstrate his unique talents by reaching various Challenger tour finals in both Italy and Australia. With a bright career to come, Broady has already shown a thirst for success and an impressive potential.
