Formidable ice hockey star Liam Kirk is stirring up a storm on both sides of the pond. Drafted by the Arizona Coyotes, Kirk made history as the first English born and trained player to make it into the National Hockey League (NHL.) The South Yorkshire native has famously played for the British national team, the Peterborough Petes, and is about to embark on his next chapter with the Sheffield Steeldogs. When you take a look at Kirk’s professional debut with the Sheffield Steelers, his meteoric career has seen him go head to head against some of the biggest names in the game. Now one of the most revered and remarkable players in the rink, Kirk has a long and exciting career ahead of him.
Since his sensational pro debut, Kirk has been pivotal in the British national team’s standings at the IIHF World Championships from 2018 to now. A highly sought after player, Kirk has had outstanding tenures with Sweden’s Hockeyettan, Ontario’s Peterborough Petes, and named as part of the Sheffield Steelers 2021 Elite Series lineup. A leader of the pack, Kirk’s name has become commonplace at the top of the leaderboards, including the NIHL Spring Cup 2021.
Away from the rink, Kirk advocates for the UK based charity DKMS who find matching blood stem cell donors to fight against blood cancer. Inspired to raise the charity’s profile further, Kirk has teamed up with Cross Check Clothing with his own guest line, where a percentage of the profits go directly to the charity. As Kirk looks to the next chapter of his career, he will continue to inspire the next generation of aspiring athletes.
