Lilian Garcia

Lilián Annette Garcia, born on August 19, 1966, in the Panama Canal Zone, spent her early childhood in Spain due to her father’s work with the American Embassy, where she became fluent in both English and Spanish. After returning to the United States, she pursued her education at the University of South Carolina, graduating cum laude. Her early career included significant roles in media and entertainment, such as being a top-ten finalist in the Miss South Carolina beauty pageant, a popular morning show host on radio station WYYS “YES 97” in Columbia, South Carolina, and a VJ for WTLK-TV in Atlanta, Georgia. Garcia’s musical talents were also evident from a young age, participating in singing contests and performing with a band in clubs during her teenage years.

Garcia’s professional journey took a significant turn in 1999 when she was hired by the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) as a ring announcer, making her debut on August 23, 1999, on `Raw is War`. Beyond her announcing duties, Garcia frequently showcased her singing abilities, performing the national anthem and “America the Beautiful” at numerous WWE events, including three WrestleManias, setting a record for most musical performances at the event. Her single, “Shout,” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 2002. She released her debut album, `¡Quiero Vivir!`, in 2007, and the EP `My Time` in 2012, both featuring her songwriting contributions and collaborations with Grammy-winning producers. She has performed for major sports leagues including the NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB, and made appearances at the 1996 Summer Olympics and the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Garcia left WWE in 2016 but continued her career in entertainment and sports, joining the Professional Fighters League (PFL) as a ring announcer in 2019. She also launched successful podcasts, `Making Their Way to the Ring` and `Chasing Glory with Lilian Garcia`, further expanding her reach as a media personality. In 2024, Garcia made her return to WWE, initially for special appearances, and later re-signed on a full-time basis, demonstrating her lasting impact and versatility within the professional wrestling landscape. This return included filling in as the announcer for `WWE Raw` and subsequently resuming her role as `SmackDown` ring announcer before transitioning to other company roles.
