Linda Cohn

Linda Cohn has a distinguished career as a sportscaster, becoming ESPN’s longest-tenured SportsCenter anchor and a Hall of Fame inductee. After becoming the first full-time female sports anchor on a national radio network for ABC from 1987 to 1989, Linda Cohn established an early and impactful career in sportscasting. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from SUNY Oswego in 1981, she began her professional journey at WALK-AM/FM in Patchogue, N.Y., working as a news anchor, writer, and sports reporter. Cohn further honed her radio skills at WCBS NewsRadio 88 and WCBS-FM from 1984 to 1987, and WGBB-AM from 1984 to 1985.

Demonstrating her versatile expertise, Cohn authored her autobiography, ‘Cohn-Head: A No-Holds-Barred Account of Breaking into the Boys’ Club,’ in 2008, sharing her experiences in the male-dominated field of sportscasting. She is a recipient of four Emmy Awards for her exceptional work on SportsCenter. In 2022, Cohn marked her 30th anniversary with ESPN and further solidified her enduring presence by signing a new multiyear contract with the network, affirming her continued role as a key figure and respected voice in sports journalism. Most recently, Cohn’s illustrious career was honored with her induction into the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame in 2024, recognizing her profound achievements in media.
