LOCASH, formerly known as LoCash Cowboys, was established in 2008 in Nashville, Tennessee, by Preston Brust, originally from Kokomo, Indiana, and Chris Lucas, from Baltimore, Maryland. The duo quickly became known for their vocal performances and songwriting contributions. Early in their career, they signed with R&J Records, releasing their debut single “Here Comes Summer” in 2010, which charted on Hot Country Songs. They followed this with “Keep in Mind” in 2011, reaching the top 40, and “You Got Me,” which peaked at No. 52. These initial releases established their presence in the country music scene.
A significant turning point came with the release of “I Love This Life” in 2015, marking their first Top 10 hit on Hot Country Songs and reaching number 2 on the Country Airplay charts. This success led to their first Gold certification. The duo achieved a number one hit on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in October 2016 with “I Know Somebody,” which also earned a Gold certification. Their studio album, “The Fighters,” released in 2016, saw Top 15 success. Throughout this period, Brust and Lucas also gained recognition as songwriters, co-writing Keith Urban’s 2011 single “You Gonna Fly” and Tim McGraw’s 2012 single “Truck Yeah.” These songwriting achievements highlighted their diverse talents within the music industry.
LOCASH continued to build on its success, earning nominations for numerous industry awards, including New Vocal Duo or Group of the Year at the 2017 ACM Awards and Vocal Duo of the Year at the CMA Awards in the same year. In 2018, they signed with Wheelhouse Records, an imprint of Broken Bow Records, releasing the album “Brothers” in 2019. Further career progression includes the launch of their own record label, Galaxy Label Group, in 2024, in partnership with Studio2Bee Entertainment. Their 2025 album “Bet the Farm” was released via this new label, featuring the single “Hometown Home,” which reached number 1 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. This move demonstrates their entrepreneurial spirit and continued commitment to the country music genre.
