American actress Lori Petty is known for starring in films such as Point Break and Tank Girl, as well as TV series Orange is the New Black.
As a young actress, Petty got her first big break when she was cast in Fox’s crime drama series Booker. She was then spotted and cast alongside Robin Williams in Cadillac Man, and her success continued with a part in Point Break where she taught Keanu Reeves how to surf. A part in A League of Their Own the following year secured her reputation as a talented actress who would go on to achieve considerable success, and in 1995 she landed her first starring role as the titular character in Tank Girl. The adaptation of the cult comic book became hugely popular among fans, and Petty went on to appear in Free Willy, television series Brimstone, and movie The Poker House. The film was based on the events of her childhood, and was also her directorial debut. The now established and well respected actress went on to voice the supervillian Livewire in Superman: The Animated Series and The New Batman Adventures. In 2014, Petty was cast in Orange is the New Black, starring in the show as a recurring role across 5 years.
Most recently, Petty has continued to be cast in both television shows and films and now has an impressive list of credits to her name. In 2019 she starred in Summer Camp Island, and in 2020 appeared in film A Deadly Legend, with her latest release You’re All Gonna Die due out in the coming months.
