Louie Ski Carr

Born and raised in Inglewood, California, Louie Ski Carr began his career as a professional dancer on the nationally syndicated music program, Soul Train. He became one of the show’s most popular dancers, establishing a significant fan base. This early success led to him touring as a dancer and mentor with the R&B pop group New Edition. Carr’s passion for performing prompted him to pursue acting. He enrolled in theater classes at El Camino College and subsequently trained with acting coach Milton Katselas for nearly seven years.

Carr’s acting career spans diverse roles in classical and contemporary theatre. He played Walter Lee in “A Raisin in the Sun,” Crooks in “Of Mice and Men,” Big Julie in “Guys and Dolls,” Donald in “You Can’t Take It With You,” and Cleante in “Tartuffe.” He also embraced Shakespearean roles, portraying Theseus in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Don John in “Much Ado About Nothing,” Petruchio in “Taming of the Shrew,” and the title role in “Othello.” A notable achievement was his starring role in the award-winning production “Champion,” an original play based on real-life events, which gained critical acclaim in Los Angeles, toured other cities, and had an off-Broadway run in New York.

Following his extensive theatre work, Carr shifted his focus to film and television. His film and TV credits include roles in “Faster” (2010), “Joker Rising” (2013), “Take Out Girl” (2020), “White Elephant” (2022), and “Dominique” (2024). He has appeared in television series such as “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” (2019), “The Family Business” (2019–2024), “NCIS: Los Angeles” (2022), and “Chicago P.D.” (2023). Carr’s career demonstrates a continuous progression from dance to a variety of acting platforms, emphasizing his versatility and enduring presence in the entertainment industry.
