British actress Louise Marwood is best known for her roles on stage as part of some of television’s most famous soap operas.
Growing up in Bristol, Marwood trained at the renowned Oxford School of Drama. It was during her time studying at the independent drama school that Marwood enjoyed a number of leading roles in performances of Easy Virtue, Three Sisters and Twelfth Night. Since graduating, Marwood has gone on to appear in an array of well-known TV series, including Holby City, Waking The Dead, The Royal, The Bill and Law & Order. It was during 2005 that Marwood made her first British soap appearance when she was cast as the character Ally Harrison on Hollyoaks. In 2010 Marwood went on to join the cast of Emmerdale when she made an appearance in two episodes as Fiona Heath. Following her success on the show, Marwood went on to return as the regular character Chrissie White. After becoming a familiar face in the series, appearing in over 450 episodes, Marwood left the show in 2018 when her character was killed in a car accident.
Alongside her TV work, Marwood is also an acclaimed comedian. Until 2010 she appeared as part of the hilarious comedy sketch show Comedy Bitch and more recently she returned to the stage in the French comedy What’s in a Name? The first-ever UK tour of the play, the show was an instant success and dubbed “Utterly Hillarious” by Broadway World.
