About

Lucie Brunet, known as Luce, was born on January 28, 1990, in Perpignan, France. She pursued studies in nursing in Montpellier and also engaged in flute practice, attending courses at the Conservatory of Dramatic Art between 2008 and 2009. Her career trajectory began significantly in 2010 when she auditioned for the eighth series of the French music competition ‘Nouvelle Star’. During her audition in Marseille, she sang Rita Mitsouko’s “Andy,” notably appearing with a mustache and an electronic badge proclaiming “I love hairs.” She advanced through the competition, receiving considerable support, and ultimately won the series on June 23, 2010, marking a turning point in her professional life.

Following her win, Luce signed a major-label deal with Sony Music. Her debut album, ‘Première Phalange’, was released on June 20, 2011, and included collaborations with writers and composers such as Philippe Katerine, Orelsan, and Mathieu Boogaerts. The album was promoted through an online campaign called “jeudis de Luce,” featuring weekly video sketches. The album achieved commercial success, selling 25,000 copies, and she followed this with a successful tour across France. In 2012, she contributed to several projects, including singing for the book-song ‘La Fabrique à Comptines’, which sold over 11,000 copies, and participating in the album “La bande des mots,” where poems were set to music. She also started acting, appearing in the 2013 film ‘Nuts’ and a recurring role in the TV series ‘Vive la colo!’ In 2013, she also contributed to the “Des mots pour Alzheimer” album, recording a spoken text in tribute to her grandmother, who suffered from the disease.

Her second album, ‘Chaud’, was released on February 23, 2015, under the label Tôt ou tard, with Mathieu Boogaerts returning as a writer and director. Lead singles from this album included “Polka” and “Malibu.” Luce continued to expand her acting career, joining the Cours Florent in 2015, a prestigious acting school, where she was one of 18 selected candidates out of 1,500 applicants. She has performed in various theatrical productions, including ‘Cabaret Deret’ and ‘Peer Gynt’. Luce has also engaged in concert tours, including “Chaud” (2015–2016) with Mathieu Boogaerts, and “Showtime!” (2016–2018) and “Lenny” (2018–2020) with Zahia Ziouani and the Divertimento Orchestra.
