Nina Roth, born July 21, 1988, in McFarland, Wisconsin, began her curling career at age 10, drawing inspiration from her father, a fellow curler. She honed her skills at the Madison Curling Club, training alongside former Olympians. Roth pursued higher education at the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse while balancing her competitive curling aspirations. Beyond her athletic pursuits, she also maintains a professional career as a nurse at a critical illness recovery hospital.
Roth’s competitive journey includes numerous achievements on the national and international stages. She made her Olympic debut as the skip for Team USA at the PyeongChang 2018 Olympic Games, where her team placed eighth. She continued her Olympic involvement at the Beijing 2022 Olympic Games, serving as vice skip and contributing to a sixth-place finish for the team. Over her career, Roth has secured multiple U.S. Women’s National Championships, with her first victory in 2010. She also earned a bronze medal at the 2021 World Women’s Curling Championship. In 2022, Roth announced her decision to step back from competitive curling to dedicate more time to her family, though she later returned to compete in mixed doubles curling in 2025.
