Lucie Pohl was born in Hamburg, Germany, on April 15, 1987, into a family with a background in arts; her father, Klaus Pohl, is an actor and dramatist, and her mother, Sanda Weigl, is a singer. Pohl spent her formative years in New York City. She embarked on a career in acting, spanning film, television, and voice work. Early in her career, she appeared in films such as “Allerd Fishbein’s in Love” (2000) and “Hamlet_X” (2003), followed by multiple television films in Germany. Her film appearances continued in “Locked” (2009) and “Must Love Death” (2009). A significant film role came in 2012 with David Chase’s “Not Fade Away,” where she played Severine. Her career progressed with roles in television series such as “Pastewka” in 2006 and “Der Kriminalist” in 2009. She expanded her international presence by featuring in the American espionage thriller series “Homeland” in 2015, appearing as an Assistant for one episode. Pohl’s diverse acting portfolio includes engagements in the British science fiction comedy series “Red Dwarf XI” in 2016, where she portrayed Harmony de Gauthier in the episode “Twentica.”

In 2016, Lucie Pohl took on a substantial role in the film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” as a Secretary. She also became the voice of Mercy in Blizzard Entertainment’s popular video game “Overwatch” in the same year, a role she reprised for “Overwatch 2” in 2022. Her voice acting contributions also extend to “Hearthstone” (2014), “World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth” (2018), “Red Dead Redemption 2” (2018), “Diablo II: Resurrected” (2021), “Gotham Knights” (2022), and “Starfield” (2023). Pohl has also written and performed three solo comedy shows, “Hi, Hitler” (2014), “Cry Me a Liver” (2015), and “Apohlcalypse Now!,” which have toured internationally and received a nomination for the NY Innovative Theater Award for Outstanding Solo Performance. Later work includes television mini-series “Welcome to Chippendales” (2022), the film “Tár” (2022), and voice roles in “Megamind Rules!” (2024) and “The Loud House” (2024).

Pohl has also leveraged her comedic talents as the host of the “Immigrant Jam Podcast” and a live comedy show. In October 2021, she became a naturalized U.S. citizen. She recently published a comic book in Germany with illustrator Maximilian Bode, set in medieval times, which has been translated into English and Japanese. Her ongoing projects include upcoming acting roles in “The Imaginary Friend” and “She Lost the Signal,” and she is co-producing “She Lost the Signal.” She is also credited as writer and creator for the upcoming project “Hi, Hitler.”
