About

Luis “Trikz” Da Silva Jr. is an entertainment industry professional from Elizabeth, New Jersey. His career in the public eye began at age 18, when he successfully auditioned for a Nike basketball commercial. This led to his signing a contract with Nike and becoming the central figure of the “Nike Freestyle” campaign, an iconic advertisement that gained global recognition. This partnership marked a significant milestone, making him the youngest non-professional athlete to receive a Nike endorsement. His involvement with Nike also facilitated appearances on the cover of Time magazine, the front page of the Wall Street Journal, and recognition in popular video games. The ‘Freestyle’ campaign is still referenced within the hip-hop and film industries and is cited as one of the most influential basketball commercials.

Following his success in basketball and brand endorsements, Da Silva Jr. began his acting career. In 2007, he appeared in Neil Jordan’s ‘The Brave One,’ alongside Jodie Foster and Terrence Howard. This role led to further opportunities, including his breakout performance as Diogo in ‘Fast Five’ (2011), the fifth installment of ‘The Fast & The Furious’ franchise. In the same year, he also acted with Johnny Depp in ’21 Jump Street.’ He has since collaborated with various notable actors across multiple projects, steadily building his filmography.

Da Silva Jr. has continued to expand his career in Hollywood, demonstrating a consistent work ethic. He has worked with actors such as Kate Winslet, Woody Harrelson, Ruby Rose, Casey Affleck, Aaron Paul, and John Travolta. His recent projects include roles in Andrew Baird’s ‘One Way,’ alongside Colson Baker and Kevin Bacon, and reprising his character of Diogo in ‘Fast X’ (2023), the tenth film in the ‘Fast & Furious’ series. In addition to acting, he has taken on roles as a producer and author, publishing a children’s book titled ‘A Boy Named Boo.’
